Welcome Home

Rockwall and Heath are two growing cities that hug Lake Ray Hubbard, giving residents access to sailing, fishing, parks and other outdoor activities.

Rockwall hugs the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. The city offers 330 acres of parkland and a popular development called The Harbor. Completed in 2006, the $79 million complex of retail, restaurants, offices and a hotel opened up some of the private lake shoreline. Along the lake in Rockwall are four marinas, three public boat ramps and two yacht clubs - the Club at Chandler's Landing and the Rush Creek Yacht Club, home of Olympic sailor Paul Foerster. Spearheaded by the Alliance for the Arts, the city's cultural arts are strong and include a concert series by the lake.

Heath also hugs the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard and is just south of Rockwall. The 7-square-mile city is in the southwest corner of Rockwall County. Heath has a growing trail system and is home to the Buffalo Creek Golf and Country Club. Terry Park, a 7-acre waterfront park, is being renovated to include a boat ramp, walking trails, landscaping and erosion control. The city strives to control growth with a one-unit-per-acre density goal and a population limit of 20,000.
